Joining QUMS
QUMS rehearses at the University of Queensland (UQ), St Lucia Campus, every Wednesday night from 7:00pm to 9:30pm with a coffee break in the middle. QUMS is open to all members of the public regardless of age or musical ability.
Our rehearsal venue is the Parnell Building (7) Room 222 (see map for building location).

If you would like to join us or are just curious to see what we're about, come along to a rehearsal or two and sit in. If you decide to join at that time you can fill out a membership form and pay fees on the night.
As well as the normal rehearsals we will have seperate sectional rehearsals, usually on weekends, where each section can concentrate on their part. These sectionals usually go for an hour or two depending on people's availability and the complexity of the pieces.
QUMS holds a rehearsal camp every semester. These camps occur on a weekend and are held at an out-of-town campsite. They provide an opportunity to intensely workshop and polish the pieces for the semester's concert.
We maintain a busy social calendar throughout the year. These range from weekly coffee after rehearsal to barbeques on campus to the end of year formal Academic Dinner. There is always something planned and the social events are a good way to get to know your fellow choristers better.
